Drop in Advice Sessions
We provide drop-in sessions where service-users can access advice, information and support and are given the opportunity to learn Life in the UK Test, English, and socialise. We provide advice on housing, benefits, education, immigration, health and family issues, debt, and much more. Our services are free and people using the service don’t need an appointment.
For many of the young, unaccompanied asylum seekers we support CASA UK is one of the few consistent sources of support in their lives throughout their teenage years.
Training and Employment support
We provide adults and young people with training and support they need to move on into employment. This includes one-to-one support for young people in making training applications, work placement support, CV writing sessions and monthly employment sessions.
LIFE IN THE UK TEST TRAINING
The Life in the United Kingdom Test is a test for individuals seeking Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or naturalisation as a British citizen. The test lasts for 45 minutes; the entrants have to answer 24 questions. This is based on chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 of a handbook third edition 2013 "Life in the UK Handbook 3rd Edition: A Guide for New Residents". Remember that you need to get at least 75% to pass this
Activities and outings
Clients of all ages and circumstances enjoy getting involved in our regular activities and outings including family days out, sponsored walks, cultural visits etc. Isolation and poverty mean that many of the individuals and families we work with find it hard to meet others, relax and have some fun.
